Project Description

The owners of this home wanted to completely change the front façade of their existing home to be warm, inviting, and modern. The home’s existing face was very typical of the neighborhood and without any unique characteristics.

Being on a major commuter artery, our design objective was to create a unique façade that would stand out from the neighboring homes. Most of the adjacent homes were clad in traditional light colored wood lap siding and white windows. The white stone cladding around the entry was chosen to connect the home to the neighborhood to a certain degree. However, the warm dark natural wood siding was selected to create a significant contrast to the other home. The custom front entry trellis is totally unique with its vertical and horizontal wood slats.

The low modern wall by the sidewalk was designed to create separation from pedestrians while providing a connection to the façade design.
