Flush Regularly!

Here is a little tip if you have a toilet in your home that is not being used on a regular basis.  Such toilets are often located in basements and on third floors.  Toilets should be flushed on a regular basis to prevent them from drying out.  A toilet with a dried out trap can allow sewer gasses to enter freely into your home – Yikes!  Also, toilets located in spaces with dehumidifiers will often be sucked bone dry, so make sure to flush these regularly to keep your home smelling a little fresher.  And by the way, the same can happen to floor drains in basements near dehumidifiers, so pour water in there once in a while as well to keep the trap full. Happy flushing (-;
