An existing adjacent room was incorporated into the new kitchen by removing a load-bearing wall and installing new beams and posts. The posts and beams are clad in dark alder wood for great contrast with the traditional white cabinetry.

New solar powered skylights were introduced to bring natural light to the space. In the sitting area, a new stone clad fireplace was installed along with a built-in bench for additional seating.

The end result is an open and inviting kitchen and entertainment space with numerous unique aesthetic and functional details.
